See Other’s Potential

Dear Collective Community,

You don’t inspire others by showing them how great you are, but by showing them how great they are.

Being kind and uplifting doesn’t cost a thing, but it can mean everything. A simple word of encouragement, a moment of patience, or a small act of generosity can make someone’s day—and in turn, strengthen our entire community.

This lesson became clear while working with our Lil Lightning athletes. Young kids, full of energy, often want to be the star of the game. Sometimes, that means taking the ball from their own teammates! But teamwork isn’t about outshining others—it’s about helping everyone succeed. We focused on passing, supporting each other, and celebrating teammates' wins. They didn’t always get it right, but little by little, they learned that helping others win makes the whole team stronger.

How can we carry this into our own lives?

  • At the gym: Cheer on a classmate. Their success doesn’t take away from yours.

  • At work: Recognize the effort of a coworker. A simple “I appreciate the work you do and you supporting more” goes a long way.

  • In life: Show up for people—not for attention, but because kindness builds stronger connections.

When we lift each other up, we all rise together. This week, let’s make kindness the goal.

With strength & kindness,
Charlie
