You Become Who You Spend Time With

Dear Collective,

This is a topic we’ve talked about before, but it demands a consistent audit and review: You become the people you spend your time with. Choose wisely.

It’s easy to fall onto autopilot. We say "yes" to so many obligations, tasks, and social pressures that before we know it, we are just running through our days without paying attention to who is around us.

Take a second today to pause and look at your orbit.

  • Are the people around you pulling your energy away, or are they helping you build the characteristics you are actually seeking in this life?

  • Are you spending time with people who challenge you to stay curious, or people who make you feel like settling?

If you hang around people who prioritize their health, you naturally start making healthier choices because you at least thought about it. If you hang around people who are educated, sharp, and curious, you keep your brain active and pick up on things you never understood before because you at least thought about it. Learning brand-new things keeps us young, but you have to put yourself in environments where that growth is normal because you at least thought about it.

That is the entire point of We, The Collective.

We don't expect anyone to walk through our doors with everything figured out. But when you step into this room, you are surrounding yourself with people who all want the exact same thing: to get a little bit better today than they were yesterday, and to help the person next to them do the same.

Audit your circle this week. Choose the environments that sharpen you, protect your energy, and surround yourself with the people who make you better.

With Strength and Wisdom,

Charlie We, The Collective Fitness
