  • 1 box (16 oz) Elbow Macaroni
  • 1 pkg (8 oz) Surimi (Imitation Crab), flaked/chopped
  • 1 cup Crushed Rye Chips
  • 1/4 cup Butter Substitute
  • 1/4 cup All-Purpose Flour
  • 3 cups Skim Milk or alternative
  • 1/2 cup Whipped Cottage Cheese
  • 2 1/2 cups Shredded Sharp Cheddar (Total amount needed)
  • Salt, Pepper, Garlic Powder, and OLD BAY Seasoning (To Taste)

Instructions (Easy Step-by-Step)

  1. Cook Pasta: Boil macaroni until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  2. Make Roux: Melt 1/4 cup butter substitute. Whisk in 1/4 cup flour for 1 minute. Gradually whisk in 3 cups skim milk until the sauce thickens slightly.
  3. Make Cheese Sauce: Reduce heat. Whisk in 1/2 cup whipped cottage cheese. Gradually add 1 1/2 cups of cheddar until melted. Stir in all seasonings.
