In Your Head. What’s In Your Heeeaddd
Dear Collective Community,
This week’s intention is one we've touched on before, but now with a newperspective: "Your life is as good as your mindset." This is easy to forget when things aren’t going as planned. But it’s our mindset that shapes our experience—not the circumstances themselves.
Recently, we had the opportunity to join In-Motion Consulting's book club to discuss The Let Them Theory. The book encourages us to release control over others' actions and focus instead on our own responses. If someone’s choices don’t align with your expectations? Let them. If a friend cancels plans? Let them. If someone doubts your goals? Let them. We waste too much energy trying to control what’s outside of us. The real strength comes in mastering what’s within us—our thoughts, actions, and mindset.
Just this las weekend, I went to a party (I was not at the studio, home, or the office) and chose not to drink. For a long time, I tied my social identity to being "the guy with a drink in hand." But choosing not to drink didn’t change who I was. I could still laugh, connect, and be myself. The truth is, my mindset—not the drink—shaped my confidence and energy. That choice felt empowering because I realized I didn’t have to be that person anymore. My mindset defined me, not the drink in my hand.
Here’s how you can improve your mindset this week:
💡 Focus on What You Can Control: Life won’t always go as planned. People will make their own decisions. But you get to decide how you respond. When you release what’s outside your control, you gain peace of mind.
💡 See Challenges as Opportunities: That workout that feels impossible? The difficult conversation you’ve been avoiding? Each one is a chance to grow. Instead of thinking, "I can't do this," ask yourself, "What can I learn from this?"
💡 Surround Yourself with People Who Lift You Up: The right community makes all the difference. Seek out those who encourage your growth, celebrate your wins, and remind you that you're capable—even on the tough days.
💡 Be Willing to Learn: Courage isn’t just about grand gestures; it’s also about being open to new ideas. Ask questions. Admit what you don’t know. Whether it’s improving your squat, learning a new skill, or just having an honest conversation—you’ll grow faster by embracing the unknown.
This week, remind yourself: Your mindset is a great tool. Shift your focus, challenge your thinking, and trust that you can face whatever comes your way.
With strength and clarity,
Charlie
