Life Is Short

Dear Collective Community,

This week’s intention is a simple one — “Life is short. Do what you love.”

It’s easy to let the weeks slip by. You go to work, hit a few workouts, check your phone too much, stress about bills or inboxes, and before you know it, the weekend has flown by. We blink and it’s another month gone. Another year passed. Another “someday” pushed even further down the calendar.

And yet, there’s something about this time of year — when the days finally get longer, when the sun lingers a little more after work, when the mornings don’t feel quite so harsh — that reminds us: we only get so many of these.

So here’s the hard truth: life really is short.

But the gift is that within that short span, we are allowed to choose how we spend our time. We get to decide what matters. What makes us feel alive. Who we spend our energy with. And most importantly, what we do with our one wild, weird, and beautiful life.

This intention isn’t about quitting your job tomorrow and moving to an island (though hey, if that’s the move, go for it). It’s about checking in:

  • Are you spending time on things that fill you up — or drain you?

  • Are you doing things because they truly matter to you — or because you’re “supposed to”?

  • Have you lost track of the fun, the play, the spark that makes life feel vibrant?

We’re not just bodies in motion here. We’re hearts and minds trying to stay curious, trying to feel meaning, trying to build something that lasts — not just muscle, but relationships, values, and a life we’re proud of.

We built this space, this gym, this community not just to lift heavy things — but to lift each other. And part of that is supporting each other as we go after the things we love. Whether that’s showing up to a new class, sharing a dream with someone else, or finally carving time for something you’ve been putting off.

So this week, I invite you to ask:

  • What brings me joy — real joy — and how can I do more of that?

  • What’s one small thing I’ve always wanted to try, and how can I take the first step?

  • Who do I want to share more time with, and what’s stopping me?

Even 15 minutes of something you love can change the entire feel of a day. A single decision can ripple into a whole new chapter.

And if you don’t know what you love yet — great. That means you get to try things. Stay curious. Test something new at the gym, try a new class, talk to someone you don’t know yet. Do something that feels a little silly, but still pulls at you. This is how we learn what brings us alive.

Let’s not wait for the “perfect” moment. Let’s make more of them now.

Your life is short. But it’s yours. So make sure you’re living it on purpose.

With strength and sunshine,
Charlie
